Lions roster update: Detroit signs Brian Robiskie, according to report

Phil Sears-US PRESSWIRE

The Lions have signed wide receiver Brian Robiskie to replace Nate Burleson.

The Detroit Lions have signed wide receiver Brian Robiskie to replace Nate Burleson who will miss the remainder of the season with a broken leg, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.

Robiskie has 39 career receptions for 441 yards with three touchdowns with the Cleveland Browns from 2009 to 2011. Robiskie was in training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars this past off-season but failed to make the team.

The Lions also worked out Legedu Naanee and Deon Butler before signing Robiskie.

Burleson had one catch for 16 yards versus the Chicago Bears on Monday but was taken to the locker room after being tackled on his lone reception. The Lions later learned that Burleson had broken his leg and would miss the remainder of the season.

Burleson has 27 receptions for 240 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions this season.

Detroit has started the season with a 2-4 record and will host the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks at home this Sunday.
