NFL odds Week 8: Seahawks vs. Lions

Dennis Wierzbicki-US PRESSWIRE

The Detroit Lions are a slight favorite when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

The Detroit Lions are slight favorites in their Week 8 contest against the Seattle Seahawks. The Lions opened favored by one-and-a-half points, and depending on the sportsbook, the line now sits anywhere between one and two points.

Detroit pushed against the spread in their last game, losing to the Chicago Bears as six-point-underdogs on Monday Night Football. Against the Bears, Detroit was unable to hold onto the ball, turning it over four times. Overall, the Lions are just 1-4-1 against the spread. This will be the third home game for Detroit, which is 1-1 at Ford Field this season after beating the Rams in Week 1 but losing to the Vikings in Week 4.

Seattle lost to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, but covered the seven-and-a-half point spread, losing by a count of 13-6. The cover pushed the Seahawks up to 5-2 against the spread this season.

The Seahawks strength this season has been their defense, as they've allowed the third-fewest points of any team at 15.1 points per game. The Lions offense ranks 19th in scoring, racking up 22.2 points per game. The total for the game is 43.5 points.
