Chris Houston injury: X-rays negative on cornerback's ankle

Hannah Foslien

Chris Houston left Sunday's game with a leg injury, but X-rays on his ankle came back negative.

X-rays on Detroit Lions cornerback Chris Houston's ankle came back negative after Houston was injured during Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Houston was injured during Adrian Peterson's 61-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Houston stayed down on the field before being helped off by trainers. Sunday's injury isn't the first time Houston has injured an ankle this season. He injured his left ankle during the preseason and missed the first two games of the regular season.

While X-rays were negative, the extent of Houston's injury is still unknown. If he was forced to miss time, it would be a big blow for the Lions secondary as Houston is considered to be Detroit's top cornerback. He has one interception and five pass deflections this season. Houston, who intercepted five passes last season, is scheduled to be a free agent after this season.

Houston had three tackles before leaving the game on Sunday.
