Defensive tackles Nick Fairley and Corey Williams were among five players listed as questionable to play on Thanksgiving against Houston.
Although many key Detroit players who were limited throughout the week remain probable on the team's official Week 12 injury report, the statuses of a number of other pivotal defensive players remain up in the air. Two of the Lions' five players currently viewed as questionable heading into Thursday, defensive tackles Nick Fairley and Corey Williams, each have come down with illnesses that have forced the two standout linemen off the practice field. Williams, who is also nursing a knee injury, completely sat out Wednesday's practice despite partaking in a limited capacity the previous two days.
Unlikely to play for the first time in his 12-year NFL career on Thursday, starting left tackle Jeff Backus was held out for the entire week of practices with a serious hamstring injury. Backus currently owns the third-longest active streak in the NFL of 186 consecutive starts, but will be forced to watch from the sidelines as rookie Riley Reiff is set to take over the left side of the line.
