NFL injury report: Lions WR Calvin Johnson still banged up

Lions WR Calvin Johnson's knee remains a concern for the team, despite his big performance in Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Detroit Lions didn't have any new injuries to report after their 31-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, although wide receiver Calvin Johnson's knee remains a concern.

Before the game, Johnson's status was up in the air while dealing with a sore knee. However, "Megatron" ended up getting the start, and contributed in a big way by catching seven balls for 129 yards.

Johnson did not practice at all last week, and had to take a painkiller before the game to reduce the pulsating pain in his knee, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Still, despite not being able to make cuts like he is normally accustomed to doing, Johnson played through the soreness, and acknowledged that it won't be the last time he does so:

"It's probably something I'm going to have to deal with. As much running as we do, especially in this game, it's just tough to take. But really (it'll take) the whole season to get over with. I mean, it'd be great if we can get over with it before. But it's something that I expect it to linger."

Linebacker DeAndre Levy was inactive on Sunday for the second consecutive week as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury. His status heading into Week 10 is still unknown.

The Lions will face the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday in Minneapolis. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
