Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says Lions special teams unit is 'much improved'

Leslie Frazier believes the Lions have improved on special teams since Week 4.

The Lions will attempt to win three games in a row for the first time this season when they play the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday and will do so with a much-improved special teams unit according to Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier.

Frazier told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that the Lions special teams unit is "much improved" since the two teams last played on Sept. 30.

The Vikings had two touchdowns on special teams versus the Lions in Week 4 as Percy Harvin ran back the opening kickoff 105 yards and Marcus Sherels had a 77-yard punt return, both for touchdowns, in Minnesota's 20-13 road win.

The Lions defense held the Vikings to just 227 yards of total offense at home in the loss.

At 5-4, the Vikings are one win ahead of the 4-4 Lions in the NFC North standings. The Vikings have lost two in a row while the Lions have won back-to-back games heading into Sunday.
