Center Elliott Mealer says the Michigan Wolverines have fixed the snap count issues that caused problems against Michigan State in the past.
After last year's 28-14 Michigan State victory, the Spartans said they had timed the snap counts of then center David Molk and were able to consistently jump the snaps. By jumping the snaps, Michigan State was able to limit the Wolverines to only 82 yards on the ground.
Mealer, a fifth-year senior in his first season as a starter, says the problem was addressed last year and doesn't expect it to be an issue on Saturday. Michigan State has also graduated defensive tackle Jerel Worth since last year's contest, another fact that should help the Wolverines' rushing game, which currently ranks 16th in the nation.
Michigan (4-2, 2-0) looks to break a streak of four consecutive losses to MSU (4-3, 1-2) when the Spartans come to Ann Arbor on Saturday. Kickoff is at 3:30 ET.
