Michigan vs. Purdue: Robert Marve could return for Boilermakers

Hoping to grab their second-straight win against Purdue on Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines may once again have to deal with a two-headed monster at the quarterback position from the Boilermakers' offense.

According to Nick Baumgartner of MLive.com, Purdue fifth-year senior Robert Marve might actually have a chance to play this weekend despite suffering an ACL injury last month. Marve was originally expected to miss a significant amount of time, but is determined to get on the field at any cost to make the most of his final year of eligibility.

Boilermakers coach Danny Hope indicated that he intends to play Marve if possible this weekend, and would still use senior Caleb TerBush in a dual-quarterback system depending on how both players perform.

"There's a chance that Robert could play this week," Hope said Tuesday. "I think that he feels good enough now, physically, to be in position to contribute throughout the course of the ballgame. We believe he'll be available this weekend."

Marve and TerBush each played against the Wolverines last year in Michigan's 22-point win, and it was TerBush who was the more efficient of the pair with 156 yards passing and a touchdown. Even though Marve is recovering from a knee injury and will likely be limited athletically, the former five-star prospect clearly has the best arm of the two quarterbacks and could win his job back on Saturday.
