Michigan's Denard Robinson is one of 12 semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien Award.

Michigan Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson was was named one of 12 semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien Award on Tuesday. The award is given to the nation's best quarterback.

This is the second straight season Robinson has been named a semifinalist for the award. He was one of two Big Ten quarterbacks among the semifinalists, joining Ohio State's Braxton Miller. Robinson was named a semifinalist despite throwing as many touchdowns as he has interceptions.

While his passing numbers aren't among some of the nation's leaders, Robinson adds a lot with his legs and has rushed for 900 yards and six touchdowns this season. Robinson is on pace to rush for more than 1,500 yards, which would blow away the 1,176 he rushed for a season ago.

Three finalists for the award will be announced on Nov. 19, with the winner being announced during the Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 6.
