BCS Standings 2012, Week 10: Michigan drops out of rankings; Alabama No. 1

Bruce Thorson-US PRESSWIRE

Nebraska is the lone Big Ten representative in the latest BCS standings.

The latest BCS standings were released on Sunday, and while Alabama retained its hold on the top spot, there is a new No. 2: the Kansas State Wildcats. Florida had the No. 2 slot heading into the week, but the Gators lost to Georgia on Saturday, which led to a drop from second to seventh. Notre Dame, Oregon and LSU round out the top five.

Nebraska is the only Big Ten team in the top 25 this week. Michigan and Wisconsin both dropped out of the standings. The Cornhuskers are tied for first in the Legends Division and 6-2 overall; they have won two games in a row, including a 23-9 win over Michigan on Saturday.

Ohio State would appear somewhere in the standings if it were not ineligible for postseason play in 2012. The Buckeyes are the league's only undefeated team, and they're No. 6 in the latest AP Poll.
