Bruce Thorson-US PRESSWIRE
Despite a 22-point win over Minnesota in Week 10, the Michigan Wolverines fell short of the BlogPoll Top 25 for the second consecutive week.
Currently tied for first place with the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 4-1 in the Big Ten Legends Division, the Michigan Wolverines once again fell short in the voting in this week's BlogPoll Top 25.
The Wolverines dropped from the rankings last week following a crushing 23-9 loss to the Cornhuskers at Memorial Stadium, but managed to bounce back with a strong showing against Minnesota last weekend. The 35-13 victory with backup quarterback Devin Gardner at the helm clearly did not sway many voters however, as the Wolverines remain one of a handful of Big Ten schools currently trying to break back into the rankings.
Mark Dantonio's Michigan State Spartans picked up a few votes despite a disheartening 28-24 loss to Nebraska on Saturday, but are still a meager 5-5 on the year and 2-4 in conference play. With virtually no shot at landing a bid to the Big Ten title game and somewhat low profile games against Northwestern and Minnesota remaining, Dantonio's squad may be hard-pressed to creep back into the top 25 so late in the year.
