The first BCS standings of the 2011 college football season are out. Michigan State is ranked 16th, one spot behind where the AP Top 25 has them and three spots behind their ranking in the USA Today Poll.
Michigan comes in at No. 18 in the initial BCS standings. The Wolverines are 17th and 18th in the USA Today Poll and AP Top 25, respectively, so there's not much disagreement with the BCS. Had Michigan won on Saturday, it's likely the BCS would have had them in the top 10, which is where the BCS projections had the Wolverines last week.
