A day after getting a commitment from Kyle Kerrick, the Michigan State football program picked up two more commitments on Thursday. Jamal Lyles, a linebacker from Southfield, Michigan, was the first to drop for the Spartans, and shortly after Indiana tight end/defensive end Josiah Price joined him as a Michigan State commitment.
Lyles is a three-star outside linebacker on Rivals, which ranks him 44th in the nation at his position. Scout, ESPN and 24/7 Sports also give Lyles three stars.
Price is listed as a tight end by Rivals, which gives him three stars. Scout and 24/7 Sports have him listed as a tight end and defensive end, and each site gives him three stars as well. ESPN also has Price listed as a three-star recruit, but he is considered only a defensive end.
Lyles' offer list, according to Rivals, includes Michigan State, Akron, Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Syracuse, Toledo, Vanderbilt and Western Michigan.
Price has offers from Michigan State, Akron, Arkansas State, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Purdue, Toledo and Western Michigan, according to Rivals.
