After going more than two months without adding anybody to its 2012 football recruiting class, Michigan State picked up commitments from two players on Sunday: Ohio safety Mark Meyers and Oregon defensive tackle David Fennell.
Meyers, who decommitted from Toledo, his hometown school, is ranked as a three-star recruit on Rivals, Scout and ESPN. 24/7 Sports only rates him as a two-star safety. Rivals lists offers from Michigan State, Toledo, Akron, Bowling Green and Kent State.
Fennell hails from Portland and is considered a three-star defensive tackle by ESPN and 24/7 Sports. Scout has not yet rated Fennell, and Rivals doesn't even have him in their database. Although Michigan State is his only listed offer on those sites, ESPN reports that he has offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Oregon State, Iowa, Central Michigan, Nevada and North Dakota.
With signing day only a little more than a week away, Michigan State now has 16 commits for 2012.
