Delvon Roe Won't Play, But He Will Participate In Michigan State's Senior Day Activities

Former Michigan State basketball player Delvon Roe will not officially be considered a current Michigan State basketball player on Sunday, at least not in the sense that he will be able to play. Although it was reported earlier on Thursday that Michigan State was seeking a "special pardon" that would allow him to suit up and enter the game against Ohio State for one last appearance with the Spartans, athletic director Mark Hollis says that the school didn't submit a reinstatement request. Rather, the school worked with the NCAA to determine how Roe can be honored along with the other seniors, and this is what they came up with:

While it would have been cool for Roe to enter into the game, it's good that he will at least be able to take part in the other Senior Day activities. His career as a basketball player may be over because of knee problems, but Sunday will serve as a proper sendoff for Roe, who is excited to be a part of it all.

Michigan State's game on Sunday against Ohio State will tip off at 4 p.m. ET on CBS.
