Shabazz Muhammad, the nation's most talked-about 2012 recruit, led the West to a 106-102 victory in the McDonald's All-American game Wednesday in Chicago.

Muhammad -- who says he will attend Kansas, Kentucky, Duke or UCLA -- scored 21 points, while Duke-bound Rasheed Sulaimon added 18.

Future Michigan State Spartan Gary Harris played through what MLive.com described as "two nagging groin injuries." He missed all three of his field goal attempts, but did some of the nitty-gritty work that figures to please Tom Izzo. In 15 minutes, Harris was 2-for-2 from the line and had five rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Despite the pedestrian stat line, Harris seemed to impress a few of his opponents. According to MLive, Marcus Paige, a North Carolina-bound guard, said this of Harris:

"For his size, he moves pretty well. He's a good ball-handler too, so I think he's going to be great at Michigan State. He fits that system perfectly."

Said Sulaimon:

"He does a lot of things that you don't see on the stat line, but it helps the team win. When teams need him to score, he can score. When they need him to lock down the best player on the opposite team, he can do that. He can rebound. He's just a great all-around player."

Harris, rated by Rivals as a five-star recruit, is one of four players committed to MSU in the 2012 class.
