The Michigan State Spartans lost a key regular-season game at home to Ohio State on Sunday, but they suffered an even bigger loss as they look to win in March. Freshman guard Branden Dawson suffered a torn ACL in the Spartans' loss, according to Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports.

Dawson suffered the injury at the 10:16 mark of the first half in the Spartans' 72-70 loss. He hurt his knee trying to get a rebound and immediately left the floor. When he went out, the Spartans held a big lead. They promptly surrendered a Buckeyes comeback, which was pivotal in their eventual win.
Dawson averages 8.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in just over 21 minutes, which ranks him third in scoring and second in rebounding.
