Andrew Maxwell Injury: Michigan State QB Questionable For Spring Game

Projected Spartans starter at QB Andrew Maxwell is out a week at least with a strained knee.

Michigan State quarterback Andrew Maxwell suffered a sprained knee in the Spartans' first spring scrimmage and will be out at least a week, according to the team's official Twitter account.

Maxwell, a redshirt junior, is set to take over as Michigan State's starting quarterback following the departure of Kirk Cousins. Last season, Maxwell completed 18-of-26 passes for 171 yards and one touchdown.

If Maxwell is unable to play in the spring game, redshirt freshman Connor Cook will likely play quarterback for both sides. Via Joe Rexrode of The Lansing State Journal:
