Former Michigan State Long Snapper Matt Giampapa Transferring To Tennessee

On Thursday night, former Michigan State Spartans long snapper Matt Giampapa announced via his twitter account that he will officially be transferring to Tennessee to become a member of the Volunteers football program. At the beginning of May, reports surfaced that Giampapa was leaving Michigan State in order to be closer to his family in Jackson, Tennessee. Now those reports have been substantiated.

It seems as though Michigan State had a sense that this move was coming because on April, 14, the team offered Taybor Pepper a late scholarship after he had previously accepted a preferred walk-on spot at Michigan. Pepper, a senior from Saline, is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound long snapper.

Giampapa started 13 games last season as a freshmen but was suspended for the Outback Bowl after violating team rules.
