Michigan State Vs. Boise State: Spartans Ready For Broncos’ Up-Tempo Offense

The 13th-ranked Michigan St. Spartans are prepared for their opening game with the 24th-ranked Boise St. Broncos and their up-tempo, no-huddle offense.

In order to get ready the Spartans have been running two huddles at practices to run plays against the defense in fast succession. One huddle breaks and the runs a play and as soon as that play ends the other huddle breaks to run the next play. Coach Mark Dantonio knows that it is on his defense to adjust.

"We have to adjust to the tempo of the football game," Dantonio said. "That's number one. You always have to do that defensively to an opposing team's offense. Whether you adjust to the rhythm of how fast the plays are coming in, whether there's no‑huddle or not. You have to adjust to the speed of the game, game speed, speed of their players, get a feel for who they are up front."

Michigan State will host Boise State on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.
