Tom Izzo is promising another championship for Michigan State in the coming years.

In an interview with Michigan State President Lou Anna K. Simon and Athletic Director Mark Hollis, Tom Izzo promised that the team will win a national championship during their current tenure.

Izzo said: "We're going to win another championship here. We're going to get one while you're president. We're going to get one while you're AD."

Izzo won his first championship with Michigan State in 2000 and also said that he would like join the small fraternity of coaches that have won multiple championships during their careers.

Since 1999, Izzo has led Michigan State to six Final Fours (1999, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2010) and two NCAA championship games (2000 and 2009) but has failed to win the second title that he seeks.

Michigan State opens the season as the 14th-ranked team in the country in the AP poll and will start the regular season versus Connecticut at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
