Michigan State tight end Dion Sims will be a gametime decision this weekend against Michigan, as he's still recovering from a sprained ankle.
Michigan State Spartans tight end Dion Sims will travel with the team to Ann Arbor, but remains a gametime decision according to a tweet from MLive.com's Diamond Leung. Sims missed the Spartans' loss to Iowa last week with a sprained ankle. The Spartans will face their biggest rivals, the Michigan Wolverines, and are hoping to claim their fourth straight win in the series.
Michigan State's passing game has suffered in 2012, but Sims was one of the bright spots. He's essentially the only receiving threat at the position, and is second on the team in catches with 24. He has 313 yards on the year, and two touchdown catches. The 6'5" junior would be a big matchup problem for the Michigan defense, as well as providing freshman quarterback Andrew Maxwell with a safety valve.
A loss against the Wolverines would effectively end Michigan State's hopes for another appearance in the Big Ten title game, so missing Sims could be a massive blow.
