Michigan State vs. Indiana: Hoosiers haven't named starting quarterback yet

Stay connected for news and updates

Indiana Head Coach Kevin Wilson is hoping one of his quarterbacks will step up in practice but until they do, he will not name a starter for this Saturday's home game versus Michigan State.

Freshman Nate Sudfeld relieved last week's starter Cameron Coffman in the second half versus Northwestern and went 9-of-16 for 157 yards and a touchdown. Coffman was 13-of-23 for 109 yards and an interception in the first half but the Hoosiers were down 20-0 after two quarters. Indiana lost to Northwestern by a score of 44-29.

Wilson told the Associated Press that he doesn't think the shuffling of quarterbacks will hurt the team as a whole:

"Our players like both guys," Wilson said. "I don’t think they really think much about it. They both are similar in what they do. The offense doesn’t change. I like both of them."

For the season, Sudfeld is 25-of-40 for 357 yards and three touchdowns. Coffman is 53-of-80 for 518 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in 2012.
