Nebraska vs. Michigan State: Dion Sims 'all set to go this week'

Spartans tight end expected to play a bigger role as his injured ankle continues to improve.

According to Joe Rexrode, Mark Dantonio expects Sims to be back to 100 percent for Michigan State's game this week against Nebraska.

After missing two games with an ankle injury, Michigan State tight end Dion Sims returned to the field this past Saturday to help the Spartans post a much-needed win on the road at Wisconsin. Sims caught two passes for 22 yards against the Badgers despite playing on an ankle that was at about 80 percent strength.

Sims has played in six games this season for Michigan State, catching 26 passes for 335 yards and two touchdowns so far. The 6'5, 285 pound tight end offers quarterback Andrew Maxwell a big target to utilize in the passing game while also supporting the offensive line in the running game.

Michigan State remains alive in the race for the Big Ten's Legends Division lead, but at 2-3 in conference play, they must beat the 3-1 Cornhuskers on Saturday to build on their win over Wisconsin.
