Michigan State Spartans offensive tackle Fou Fonoti will likely miss the rest of the season due to injury.

Senior offensive tackle Fou Fonoti will likely receive a medical redshirt and miss the rest of the season for the Michigan State Spartans due to a stress fracture in his left foot, according to head coach Mark Dantonio. As noted by Diamond Leung of MLive.com, Dantonio mentioned on his radio show that Fonoti will "probably" miss the rest of the season, because if the lineman takes a medical redshirt he can return as a senior next season.

The Michigan St. offensive line has already lost Travis Jackson and Kodi Kieler to season-ending injuries, so if Fonoti gets shelved some creative shuffling will need to take place. It has been a tough season for the Spartans, who fell to 3-2 overall after a loss to Ohio State on Sept. 29 in their conference opener. The rest of the Big Ten schedule is certainly more friendly, but if injuries continue to pile up the task only becomes more difficult for Dantonio's squad in 2012.
