Kenny Demens and former cornerback Boubacar Cissoko missed pretty much all of their rent payments, save maybe a security deposit, when living together. Now, the apartment complex wants their money, man:↵
Hidden Valley Club Apartments is suing Demens and Cissoko for $9,925, plus interest and attorney fees.↵
The suit, filed in 15th District Court, alleges Demens and Cissoko signed a lease, agreeing to pay $850 each month for an apartment from May 1, 2009, through May 31, 2010.↵
The apartment complex "fully performed all of its obligations under the lease," the suit claims, but Demens and Cissoko "failed to pay the agreed upon rent."↵
Demens was served with the suit Sept. 27, court papers filed this month say. He could not be reached for comment Thursday.↵
Not sure about Demens, but Cissoko must have been far too busy skipping classes, workouts, meetings and being dismissed from the team (October 2009) to concern himself with responsibilities as meaningless as paying his half of the rent. Cissoko is currently in state prison for three thefts and attempted robbery.↵
In Michigan, a defendant must file an answer to a complaint or take some other action allowed by law within 21 days. The two have not yet responded to the lawsuit.
