Michigan football player Darryl Stonum originally pleaded not guilty to the operating while intoxicated charge he was facing. After reaching a plea agreement, however, he pleaded guilty to operating while visibly impaired second offense last Friday.

By reaching a plea agreement, Stonum had his driving on a suspended license charge dropped. That means the only charge against him is operating while visibly impaired.

Stonum is due back in court next Friday and could face up to a year in jail for his second drunk driving-related run-in with the law. In the meantime, to stay out of jail he has to submit to a breath test each morning.

Stonum has been out on a $500 personal recognizance bond in the most recent case and is required to submit to a breath test each day by 8:30 a.m. at the University of Michigan Department of Public Safety.

As it stands right now, Stonum is still suspended indefinitely from the Michigan football team.
