Michigan Football Recruiting: Patrick Kugler Commits

Michigan has done it again. For the 10th time in the last week, a 2013 football recruit has committed to the Wolverines. The newest commit is offensive guard Patrick Kugler, who is from Wexford, Pennsylvania. Kugler was just in town for a visit and decided to commit to Michigan. He was originally scheduled to visit Michigan State's junior day, but with him committing to Michigan, the trip to East Lansing did not happen.

Like the four offensive linemen who committed to Michigan last weekend, Kugler is a four-star recruit. He is ranked 54th in the nation on Rivals and is 190th overall on 24/7 Sports, which has him fourth in the state of Pennsylvania. He is on ESPN's Top 150 watch list, as are eight other Michigan commits.

Kugler, who is the son of Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Sean Kugler, boasts an impressive offer list. According to Rivals, he has offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Arizona, Boise State, California, Florida, Florida State, Iowa, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Washington, among other schools.

Tom VanHaaren reports that Kugler will play offensive guard or center for Michigan, and according to Sam Webb, Kugler is the final offensive linemen Michigan is planning to take for its 2013 class. With five committed for 2013 and four in the 2012 class, the Wolverines appear to be set. Amazingly, of those nine offensive line commits for 2013 and 2012, seven are four-star recruits, one is a five-star recruit and only one is a three-star recruit. That bodes quite well for Michigan's offensive line going forward.
