Notre Dame apparently enjoyed the experience of playing under the lights at Michigan Stadium in 2011 quite a bit. I say that because Notre Dame has decided to host a night game of its own this year against the Wolverines. Obviously the Fighting Irish didn't like the outcome of the night game in 2011, as they lost to Michigan by a score of 35-31 in one of the most exciting games of the season. The fact that the game was at night added a lot to the atmosphere, though, and Notre Dame must want to replicate that on Sept. 22 in its stadium.
↵This won't be the first ever night game between the Wolverines and Fighting Irish at Notre Dame, but it will be the first since 1990.
↵↵↵It marks the first night game in Notre Dame Stadium between the two schools since 1990, when the top-ranked Fighting Irish defeated the fourth-ranked Wolverines, 28-24. U-M defeated Notre Dame, 35-31, in the Wolverines' first-ever night game at Michigan Stadium in 2011. Trailing 24-7 entering the fourth quarter, Michigan scored four fourth-quarter touchdowns, including two in the final 1:12, for the comeback victory.

Michigan is 0-3 all-time at Notre Dame in night games.
