On Saturday, Michigan gained a commitment from Ohio running back Deveon Smith. He is Michigan's second running back commit for 2013 (Wyatt Shallman is the other) and their 16th overall commit.
Smith is a four-star recruit on Scout and is ranked seventh at running back. 24/7 Sports gives him three stars, and ESPN has him on its 150 watch list. Currently, Smith is unrated on Rivals.
According to Rivals, Smith holds offers from Michigan, Ohio State, West Virginia, Indiana and Bowling Green.
How Smith's commitment will affect the recruitment of running back Ty Isaac will be interesting to see. Smith and Isaac have been Michigan's top targets at running back, but with Smith in the fold, the Wolverines may be done at the position. Also, it's possible that Isaac may look elsewhere with two running backs now in the 2013 class.
