Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines No. 1 In Scout's Team Rankings

Stay connected for news and updates

Scout.com released its first team recruiting rankings for 2013 on Monday. Unsurprisingly, the Michigan Wolverines came in at No. 1 on the list, beating out the likes of Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

The reason this isn't a big surprise is because most of Michigan's 2013 commits have at least four stars on Scout. Right now, Michigan has 17 players committed for next year's class. Three of the commits are five-star recruits on Scout: offensive guard Patrick Kugler (No. 1 at his position), quarterback Shane Morris (No. 3 at his position) and safety Dymonte Thomas (No. 5 at his position). 12 more of the commits are four-star recruits, and only two have three stars.

Other Big Ten teams included in the top 20 of the rankings are Ohio State (fourth), Penn State (12th), Nebraska (17th) and Michigan State (20th).
