Michigan Football: Ondre Pipkins Returns To Practice

Michigan defensive tackle Ondre Pipkins returned to practice on Monday after sustaining a neck injury last week, as Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News reports. The freshman suffered the neck injury last Friday during a practice, and he has been sitting out since then as a precaution.

After the injury occurred, Pipkins was taken to the University of Michigan hospital for evaluation even though he was able to move all of extremities, according to Wolverines coach Brady Hoke. The 6-foot-3, 340-pound defender was released from the hospital later that day, appearing at the team's Friday afternoon practice as a spectator.

Considering the potential severity of a neck injury, one has to be grateful that Pipkins has been able to return to the field so quickly. There was no initial timetable for his return, but it appears that both Michigan and Pipkins were lucky with this one.
