Denard Robinson, Devin Funchess Earn Big Ten Honors

Stay connected for news and updates

The Michigan Wolverines avoided an upset from the Air Force Falcons on Saturday and, summarily, have been rewarded for their efforts as both Denard Robinson and Devin Funchess have won a couple of the awards given out by the Big Ten conference.

Robinson was named the conference's offensive player of the week, moving him into a tie for second with Drew Brees as far as the conference honors are concerned. Robinson also earned extra distinction by becoming the first player in FBS history to rush and pass for 200 yards each in three different games during his college career.

Funchess earned freshman of the week honors after hauling in four catches for 106 yards and a touchdown as he became the first Michigan tight end to record 100 receiving yards since Jerame Tuman in 1997.
