College Football Rankings, Week 4: Michigan Falls A Spot In AP Poll Despite Win

Stay connected for news and updates

Despite breezing past UMass 63-13 on Saturday while racking up 585 yards of total offense, the Michigan football team fell from No. 17 to No. 18 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, released Sunday.

That's not so much a reflection on Michigan's performance, but just shows that a few teams had signature wins Saturday that merited moves in front of the Wolverines in the rankings. Notre Dame moved from No. 20 to No. 11 with its win over Michigan State, Florida moved up to No. 14 from No. 18 after its win over Tennessee and Stanford moved from No. 21 to No. 9 after beating USC.

Michigan travels to play Notre Dame, which looked dominant in its 20-3 win over Michigan State Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
