The crowning jewel of Michigan football's 2013 signing class, five-star prep quarterback Shane Morris, was hospitalized for mononucleosis on Wednesday, according to a report by Tom VanHaaren of ESPN.com.

Morris was taken to a local hospital and is expected to stay the night for observation, but now faces an uncertain timetable with just five games remaining on his high school team's regular season schedule. Expected to be weakened physically for at least one month due to the virus, Morris told VanHaaren that he "has no clue" about whether he'll be able to suit up again in 2012.

While recovering from his illness, the 6'3, 190-pound Warren, Michigan native has curiously decided to completely ignore distractions like social media during his day-to-day routine. And as many of his thousands of Twitter followers have already found out, Morris's personal account will be no longer available. "I just suspended it," Morris said. "I need to rest while I have mono and I didn't want anything distracting me. I'll be back on."
