Air Force Vs. Michigan: Wolverines Lead Heading Into 2nd Half

Stay connected for news and updates

The Michigan Wolverines needed to bounce back in a big way following their season-opening loss and, through the first half, it seems like the 19th-ranked team is on its way to doing just that.

Enigmatic quarterback Denard Robinson has thrown for a touchdown and ran for another one, giving the Wolverines a 14-10 lead at halftime over visiting Air Force.

Robinson began Saturday's scoring with a huge run in the first quarter to give the Wolverines a 7-0 lead and then used his arm to get Michigan its second score when he connected with Devin Funchess for a 30-yard touchdown through the air. The quarterback finished the first half with 110 rushing yards and 136 passing yards with an errant interception the lone blemish on his stat sheet.

Air Force scored its first touchdown of the day late in the second quarter when running back Cody Getz took his 11th carry 5 yards up the middle for a score, giving him 49 yards on the ground in the first half.
