Pistons crushed by Wolves in preseason action

The Detroit Pistons were crushed by the Minnesota Timberwolves in Winnipeg on Wednesday night, 95-76. The Pistons played nearly all of what is expected to be their rotation this year, but were still outclassed by a Wolves team without its two best players.

The Pistons, as evidenced by the score, had major trouble putting the ball in the basket. The team shot just 32 percent from the floor and 69 percent from the free-throw line. They were also wiped out on the glass (51-34) and in total assists (23-13). Detroit got to the line 20 more times than Minnesota, but just about negated that advantage by making only 12 more free throws than the Wolves.

Individually, it was equally grizzly across the board. Greg Monroe shot 4-of-12 from the floor en route to scoring just 11 points, Tayshaun Prince shot 3-of-10 from the field and Brandon Knight went 2-of-8. Jonas Jerebko, Andre Drummond and Kim English all missed every one of their shots off the bench. The lone exception was Rodney Stuckey, who scored 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.

The Pistons will wrap up their preseason schedule on Friday when they host the Atlanta Hawks.
