A 22-1 run spanning the third and fourth quarters broke open a four-point game as the Houston Rockets defeated the Detroit Pistons, 96-82, on Saturday.
The Pistons cut the Rockets lead to 60-56 with 5:28 remaining in the third quarter, but Houston answered by going on a 22-1 run to extend its lead to 82-57.
Brandon Knight ended the run and scored Detroit`s first basket of the fourth quarter with 5:59 remaining in the game.
Greg Monroe had his fourth consecutive double-double after recording 12 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks on 4-of-10 shooting from the field. Tayshaun Prince led the Pistons with a team-high 13 points.
James Harden led the Rockets with 20 points and five rebounds on 6-of-14 shooting from the field. Marcus Morris added 12 points off the bench for Houston.
The Rockets are 2-0 versus the Pistons this season. The loss dropped Detroit to 0-7 on the season.
