Detroit forward Henrik Zetterberg says the players are 'prepared' for the lockout.

The NHL is likely to cancel early 2012-13 regular season games by the middle of this week. Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg said Monday he is not amused by the lockout or NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, via the Detroit Free Press:

"If you look back in history, it's not the first time he does it, and he basically started to threaten us with a lockout early in July. So it's not a big surprise for us. We are prepared for it. It's just sad for everyone around it."

Defenseman Niklas Kronwall said that he thinks "everyone is keeping their hopes up that we might get a solution in the near future."

Many Detroit players, including Zetterberg, are skating at the Troy Sports Center. Jordin Tootoo and Darren Helm should be arriving at the facility late this week or next week, and Mikael Samuelsson is around, but not participating in practices due to an unknown injury. Most Red Wings are staying stateside, for now, though Pavel Datsyuk, Jakub Kindl and Valtteri Filppula have all signed deals to play overseas.
