Justin Verlander, who went 2-0 in the ALDS versus the Oakland Athletics by winning Games 1 and 5, is scheduled to start Game 3, as well as 7 should the series go the distance. Verlander was 1-1 with a 3.10 ERA in three starts versus the Yankees this season.

The complete Tigers rotation for the 2012 ALCS is as follows:

Game 1: Doug Fister
Game 2: Anibal Sanchez
Game 3: Justin Verlander
Game 4: Max Scherzer
Game 5 (if necessary): Doug Fister
Game 6 (if necessary): Anibal Sanchez
Game 7 (if necessary): Justin Verlander

The Tigers have won two straight playoff series versus the Yankees - eliminating them from the ALDS in both 2006 and 2011.
