After the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants held each other scoreless through six innings Thursday in Game 2 of the World Series, the Giants scored runs in the seventh and eighth innings to win 2-0 and take a 2-0 lead in the series as it heads back to Detroit for game three Saturday.
Hunter Pence led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, chasing Tigers starter Doug Fister from the game. Fister took the loss, giving up one earned run in six innings while striking out three. He has given up just three earned runs in three postseason starts for the Tigers, but Detroit he has not picked up with win in any of those games.
Pence scored later in the inning when Brandon Crawford grounded into a double play with the bases were loaded and nobody out.
In the eighth, with the bases loaded again, Pence hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Angel Pagan.
