Giants vs. Tigers score: San Francisco leads Detroit 2-0 after three innings

San Francisco opened the scoring for the third consecutive game against the Tigers and lead Game 3 of the World Series, 2-0, after three innings.

Gregor Blanco tripled to center field to score Hunter Pence from third. Pence had previously walked, stolen second and reached third base on a wild pitch by Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez. Pence was driven home on a Brandon Crawford single to center field to extend San Francisco's lead to 2-0.

Sanchez settled down in the third as he retired three consecutive hitters to end the inning. Sanchez has allowed three hits, two earned runs and recorded four strikeouts while throwing 62 pitches through three innings.

The Tigers came close to scoring in the first inning when Miguel Cabrera singled after Quintin Berry walked to put runners on first and second with one out. However, the inning abruptly ended when Prince Fielder grounded out to second for a double-play.

Detroit again had runners on first and second with one out in the bottom of the third inning after Omar Infante and Austin Jackson reached base on consecutive hits but Berry grounded into a double-play to end the inning.
