Injury was added to insult on Sunday night as Detroit's Omar Infante suffered a fracture in his left hand in Game 4.

Detroit Tigers second baseman Omar Infante suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand during the team's Game 4 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday night. The injury will not require surgery, according to James Schmehl of Mlive.com.

Infante was struck by a pitch in the bottom of the ninth and had to leave the game immediately. Danny Worth took over for Infante on the bases and at second base in the tenth.

The Tigers won't be needed Infante's services any time soon, as the Giants completed a sweep the next inning. The loss capped a series where Detroit struggled to get anything going offensively, putting up just six runs in four games.

Infante was one of the few brights spots in the Tigers' lineup. He had five hits over 15 World Series at-bats in a losing effort. Infante has 15 hits in 50 at-bats over the entire postseason run.
