Athletics vs. Tigers score update: Oakland, Detroit tied 1-1 through six innings

Looking to kick off the ALDS by winning both games at home, the Detroit Tigers are tied 1-1 with the Oakland Athletics through six innings on Sunday afternoon. After getting a quality start from ace Justin Verlander in Game 1, Doug Fister has pitched quite well for the Tigers so far in Game 2.

Through six innings on Sunday, Fister has allowed just one run on five hits with a Verlander-esque eight strikeouts. Oakland's Tom Milone has mostly matched him so far, though, allowing one run on five hits with six strikeouts through his first six frames.

The A's initially took the lead in the top of the third on a RBI single from Yoenis Cespedes, but the Tigers matched in the bottom of the third when Miguel Cabrera scored on a groundout by Delmon Young. Cabrera has powered Detroit's offense so far with a pair of doubles off Milone.
