Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, who injured his right shoulder against the Rams, practiced today. That's the good news. The bad news is that no passes were thrown in his direction, as he was out there simply to run routes. While one could interpret that as a sign that he will play because he is practicing the game plan, it's not a good sign that the Lions didn't even want him to attempt to catch a pass. Then again, perhaps he is just resting in order to be ready to play on Sunday.
While Johnson did technically practice, Jahvid Best, DeAndre Levy, Landon Johnson, Spencer Havner and Matthew Stafford did not. With three middle linebackers out, Detroit is down to Isaiah Ekejiuba, its fourth-stringer at the position. Best is likely just getting a day off to rest, and Stafford's status is likely going to be doubtful for the Giants game.
Louis Delmas and Aaron Brown practiced, as did Cliff Avril.
