DISH Network Customers Lose FSN Detroit In Dispute

Due to a dispute over rates, DISH Network customers were deprived of 19 regional Fox Sports Network stations at midnight on Friday.

FSN Detroit, which serves the entire state of Michigan and airs the majority of Detroit Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers regular season games, is one of the 19. The dispute could also envelop other News Corp.-owned channels, which includes the national FOX network that airs popular shows like House, Glee and American Idol.

If it's not resolved, this could affect the 150 Pistons and Red Wings games that are scheduled to air on FSN Detroit this season. The Red Wings start the season on Oct.8, next Friday.

For a long time I could not get cable TV in my area, and I got DISH as an alternative. I can tell you right now if this drags out for more than a few days, I will switch to DirecTV, which is not affected by this.
