Red Wings' Todd Bertuzzi May Miss Anaheim Game With Mystery Injury

Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi missed Friday's practice with an undisclosed injury and may not be able to play Saturday against Anaheim.

Bertuzzi had back issues during the preseason but this is unrelated to that according to head coach Mike Babcock.

Forward Todd Bertuzzi didn't practice Friday, although he's scheduled to play Saturday when the Wings host Anaheim.

"That's my understanding," said coach Mike Babcock, who added Bertuzzi was nursing an undisclosed injury. "He took (Friday) morning off."

If Bertuzzi is unable to go, Justin Abdelkader has recovered from a rib injury and would take his spot on the roster. So far this season Bertuzzi has been one of the Red Wings most effective players, potting two goals and six assists in the first six games of the season.

Bertuzzi played all 82 games last season, one of just three Red Wings to do so. If he can't go, it would be the first game he's missed in the regular season or playoffs in his second stint with Detroit.
