Michigan State Rolls Over Saginaw Valley State In Exhibition Game, 88-44

The No. 2 Michigan State Spartans hit the floor on Tuesday night for their first of two exhibition games this season. The Spartans took on Saginaw Valley State in game No. 1 and rolled the Cardinals, doubling their score in an 88-44 victory. Nobody expected this game to be close, but let's not forget that Grand Valley State actually beat MSU in an exhibition game three years ago. Anything is possible on any given night, but on Tuesday, the Spartans made sure SVSU wouldn't even keep it close.

Kalin Lucas led all scorers with 13 points in his first game since rupturing his left Achilles tendon back in March. Durrell Summers, Draymond Green and Keith Appling each scored 12 points for MSU. Derrick Nix scored nine points and Delvon Roe added eight for the Spartans. Austin Thornton, Alex Gauna, Adreian Payne, Mike Kebler and Anthony Ianni all scored at least two points, as every Michigan State player made at least one field goal.

Next up for the Spartans is an exhibition game against Nebraska-Omaha next Monday. The Spartans will officially open the 2010-11 season a week from Friday against Eastern Michigan.
