Johnson played two seasons for Michigan State from 1977-79, averaging 17.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.9 assists in his collegiate career. Johnson led Michigan State to the 1979 NCAA championship, defeating Larry Bird's Indiana State club in the final. He went on to an illustrious NBA career, winning five NBA titles and appearing in 12 All-Star Games during a 13-season career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
