Drew Stanton has started at quarterback for the Lions the last two weeks, but on Sunday when Detroit heads to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers, Shaun Hill may be the man under center. Hill has been out with a broken index finger on his throwing hand, but he returned to practice today and threw passes, indicating that he is getting closer to being able to play again. No starter was named for Sunday's game, but if Hill is good to go, I'd imagine the Lions will give him the start.
In other injury news, it looks like Gosder Cherilus is going to be placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury. He has been out the last couple weeks, and if Detroit decides to shelve him for the season, Corey Hilliard will remain the starter at right tackle for the Lions' final three games.
One player that has already been placed on IR is cornerback Brandon McDonald. He broke his arm against the Packers and is out for the year. Linebacker Caleb Campbell was signed to the active roster off the practice squad to take his spot. It is Campbell's second appearance on the 53-man roster, as he was signed for a few days back in November. (Wide receiver Roy Hall took Campbell's spot on the practice squad.)
